22 year old son, nodule on lung

He's 22, but has a very severe learning disability and is completely non verbal.

He's been losing weight over recent months (he was thin to begin with).
His bloods are normal, but the recent CT scan showed a nodule on his left lung.

Naturally I am out of my mind with worry.
He has now been referred for further investigations.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this in a young adult?
He has never smoked and there is no family history.

The nodule is 6mm.

Forgot to add that he has no cough or brethlessness.
The only worrying symptom is the weight loss, which was why he was referred originally.

Hi Lucy,

Hope things are ok.

My mum had a dry cough and still had for 18 months now.

She had a CT in July 2021 and had a 6mm nodule in left lung. September she had to get another CT and they said it had disappeared.
