Tooth Infection

Hi all, I had a filling back in October and the dentist took X Rays (whilst pregnant). I recently have been in a lot of pain with the same tooth and went back to have an emergency appointment. They said that the tooth is infected and I would likely need a root canal or extraction. I am a bit confused because according to x ray the cavity wasn’t very deep. However they don’t want to do x rays now to confirm until after the baby is born as they need to verify the tooth is inflected they’re just going off the symptoms I am having. Therefore they’ve given me antibiotics for a week and I was told they were going to seal the tooth with an antibiotic gel for the time being. Then when my baby is born take x rays and I can choose root canal or extraction. I just want to ask if that sounds right to you? Does that sound like it would be safe whilst pregnant and enough? I just am confused and don’t really know what to do

Hi op I'm 37 weeks pregnant and due to a tooth infection I had an X-ray done a few days ago and tooth extracted. I could not stand the pain of the tooth infection.

The dentist said the X-ray is low and would be same exposure as travelling on an airplane. I didn't want to take any medications also so just got it removed and now pain free.
