Can you catch a sickness bug

..so soon after getting over one? Last Monday I was suffering with what I presumed was a sickness bug. It only lasted 24 hours but in those 24 hours I was sick quite a lot. Today I went to see my mum and whilst I was there she ended up being sick. She apologised and said she felt fine right up until she was sick. I believe her as the same happened with me. I know nobody will know 100% but what are the chances of catching another bug so soon after having one? Will I be immune for a while? I just really don’t want to be ill again🙈

Perhaps she caught the bug you had? You should be fine unless you shared drinks or food with her....or if you got too close. But some people are more prone to it. I have 3 kids, have cleaned their vomit, sat next to them as they vomit etc and have only caught one bug once from the first one almost 10 years ago! The rest of the time, I managed to thankfully avoid them!!!!!! And my husband has never caught any from them!!! He has also been around them (not as much as me though!) when they have been sick, cleaned it up etc.
