I’m about at my wits end. Honestly, the last 2 years have been an endless depressing cycle of one thing after another health wise. I’m mid 40’s, slim and don’t smoke. Don’t drink too much either, and diet pretty ok. I do suffer from anxiety, and this particular health issue has really got my anxiety going.
So, around a month ago I began having stomach pain, under ribs on mainly right but sometimes left too - moves around a bit. Sometimes feels like trapped gas that if it could just shift would ease things. Sometimes feels like someone’s drilling right through me. Also back pain in the same areas. A feeling of fullness after non excessive meals, almost painful hunger pangs when I shouldn’t be hungry. All in all I’m miserable and it’s more and more constant. The pain is not to the point of unbearable, but very uncomfortable and disconcerting.
Got bloods taken and they came back ‘normal’. Was put on omeprazole which has made no difference to symptoms whatsoever. Since I began the omeprazole though, my stools have become pale and yellowy (sorry for tmi). I don’t know if it’s the omeprazole or may have happened anyway with whatever is going on.
I’m now really worried it’s my pancreas after googling (I know I shouldn’t have) pale stools. Urgh.
So basically upper abdominal and back pain for a month, bloods ok, on omeprazole with no change, now stools abnormal.
Going to have to call GP again and perhaps get an US for gallbladder. Maybe an endoscopy for ulcer too. I guess I could be waiting a while given the current state of the NHS.Anyone got any ideas what might be going on, or similar stories? Thanks.
