Good morning everyone I’m looking for some advice it’s been 5 years almost 6 since I had a pregnancy nephrostomy and I find myself in a similar situation

I’m pregnant with my third baby now, 21 weeks. I had a nephrostomy put in at 20 weeks with my first baby and then for my second pregnancy I miraculously didn’t have any issues with my kidneys.

This pregnancy I’ve had radiating flank pain which I knew deep down was kidney pain but I tried to put it down to PGP. I’ve had a scan 10 days ago and I measured 14.9 cm on the left kidney and 12.5 on the right, both dialated, both filled with wee and both covered in some rather large cysts. After my first pregnancy my renal issues all went away.

Today I’ve got my first consultant obstetrician appointment and I clearly need an urgent urology reff as per the scan report. The sonographer was quite shocked. I’m taking tramadol for the pain.

What questions do I need to ask:

Do I need monitoring and if so what would you suggest I should I have or ask for?

Any others?

I want to avoid another nephrostomy if I can I kept getting sepsis from it

Thank you
