I received a text message reminding me of an appointment with trauma and orthopedics that I wasn't expecting, not received a letter, assumed it was for my young son who is waiting for a peads orthopaedics appointment.
Received the letter today and its actually an appointment for me. I was at the local MIU on Monday this week for an xray following an injury at the weekend, no fractures seen, assumed soft tissue injury and sent on my way with a physio leaflet and instructions on how to book an appointment if necessary. She did say they send all xrays off for review as standard (nurse led MIU). It is an area where its not unusual for a fracture to be missed. Does this mean they have seen something on the xray that needs further treatment? I'm assuming with the NHS as stretched as it is they wouldn't give an appointment just to report an xray interpretation. I can't seem to find anyone (MIU, GP, ortho dept) who has had any follow up info or has received a report.
I don't want to waste anyones time (theirs or mine, will mean rearranging a complicated day of meetings to attend) but obviously will if there's a concern. The original injury is significantly better, using the limb happily although there is still some minor localised discomfort.
