Is this a tonsil cyst? Lump on tonsil

I've had a cold all week and my throat has been sore. That started as a feeling like something stuck in my throat without the cold symptoms and I was thinking it was related to my hyperthyroidism. Today I've noticed this lump which is red and about pea sized. I've never had this with tonsillitis so wondering if it's anything else. Although I've obviously got some white bits that suggest slight tonsillitis (which I'm very prone to) Has anyone had anything like this?

That was next to my tonsil rather than on it though but could be that

Can you send that photo to your GP? The white bits are like tonsillitis, as you say.

Hey I know this is old but did you ever find out what it is? I was sick for a few weeks and had tonsillitis and developed a bump that looks similar to that. I’ve been feeling better for a week or two now but the bump is still there!
