ear infection in baby?

dd is 1. she has woken up with a red ear lobe, the inner part of the lobe.. is this sign of ear infection. she also keeps shaking her head but that could be cos she's just leant to do it!? should i whip her up to out of hours doc?

is she otherwise well ? Maybe she slept on that side and if she has a cold, fluid within the ear has accumulated there. It may settle while she is awake and upright. The presence of fluid in itself is not necessarily an infection.

she has an infection and is now on antibiotics.
