Hi,

I've recently been diagnosed with the above with "active cells" as my GP put it and I am booked in for a colposcopy next week. I've been so incredibly stupid and never had a smear (age 33) and I'm scared to absolute death.

I've had bleeding after sex for years, no abnormality to periods however over the last 4/5 months they have been quite light and only lasted 3-4 days. I've had no awful discharge but it's been quite watery lately. I've been very breathless over the last few months but I am being treated for low folate. I've had a lot of sciatic pain in my leg, cramping in my abdomen and lower backache. In addition to this a vaginal mass was detected during my last pregnancy in 2019 and the consultant was sure it was a garter duct cyst however she refused to investigate further as I was in a high risk pregnancy. The mass was found during an internal scan and was quite big.

Please please someone share something positive, I'm terrified to go to my appointment and I don't want to go but I know I have to. Desperately trying to be positive here but going out of my mind!

Didn’t want to read and run. I have had a diagnosis of Severe Dyskyiarosis and HPV in the last 5 years. Colonoscopy confirmed this and she used a LLETZ procedure there and then to remove and send for biopsy. 6 weeks later I got my results and they removed all the pre cancerous cells and I was clear. I’ve had clear smears since.
Fingers crossed you have a similar outcome with other issues being resolved too Flowers
