Best laxatives

Hi I’m having an anal skin tag removed next week (terrified) and was wondering anyone coild tell me the best laxative to use in the days following. Thanks!

Over the counter I can only think of lactulose. Movicol can be prescribed. I hope the procedure goes well!

Movicol can be bought over the counter.

@ForeverSinging I wasn't allowed to it even said POM on all of our boxes. They were the sachets for my son when he was three.

1000mg of Vitamin C is also helpful.

Oh I don't think you can buy paediatric movicol but you can definitely buy the adult version, I bought it from two different pharmacies these last two months.

Thank you @ForeverSinging I should have clarified it was for my son anyway. He was on one of the regime's where you go up to 8 sachets a day for impaction and they prescribed chocolate flavour but my son hated it even more than the plain. I tried to buy it to save time changing the script because they had to get in touch with the hospital consultant instead of the GP, (he hadn't gone for 15 days!) ended up blue lighted for two enemas anyway poor boy.
