Hello!

Diagnosed with kidney stones, one on each side!

Had one a few weeks ago and it was awful! Only being violently sick eased the pain.

I only had paracetamol and codeine in which didn't touch the pain.

What can I get in ready to be prepared just incase i suffer again with these? Ibruprofen?

Any advice? Thank you!

Are they big enough for lithotripsy to shatter them? I had to have that

In my experience there is f all you can buy in the shops that helps with kidney stone pain.

Ambulance crew will go straight to morphine for the pain. Has you GP or consultant not been helpful in prescribing anything?

Plus the diet, loads of fluids, low sodium and low to moderate protein.

A bath as hot as you can manage, my right kidney decided to eject a stone on Sunday, I usually take pain med but if it keeps going its the bath and a hot water bottle against it. It also helps if you lay straight on the side thats got the stone if poss.
