Leg hardware recovery help please

Can anyone help please

I had my leg hardware removed a week ago. My leg is fine - better than I expected, I’m walking.

But the screws were fused with the bone and one broke on the way out and they had to pull me to pieces and my back is killing me

Doc has given me cocodamol but it’s not touching the sides.

I’m trying to keep my leg up to help with swelling and I don’t think that helps.

Has anyone any advice please?

You had surgery on your leg, were pulled around roughly and now your back hurts. Have I understood correctly? If this is the case then it sounds like they've caused you a new problem in your back. Trying to keep your leg elevated is going to make the back trouble worse. Your back needs seeing to as soon as possible. When do you next get a check-up? In the mean time try heat packs on the painful parts of your back to help relax the sore muscles.

(I'm an old hand at back pain. A really hot electric heat pad gives me far more pain relief than any meds, unless I take something so strong that it turns me into a dopy potato-head.)

I need to keep my leg up

The back pain is not unexpected. It’s just that they had to pull me odd ways to get the metal out of my leg (screws and plates).

I rang the doctor this morning and they gave me cocodamol and it’s not working
