Anal skin tag surgery (advice please)

Hi I’m having an anal skin tag removed under local anaesthetic on 2nd December. Feeling very scared having read numerous threads online. Wondering if anyone who has had this done can give me advice on how to prep for it and recovery. What should I buy, laxative stool softeners etc any help would be great thanks

Belle, how did you get on with your op? I'm scheduled to see NHS colorectal surgeon this week as have about 5 anal skin tags as a result of pregnancy hemorrhoids, that need removing. My GP referred me as I have so many!

Mine was fine! I was in an out in half an hour. I got mine removed under local anaesthetic. The injection was the worst part. But the nurses was lovely and chatted away the whole time. Recovery wasn’t that bad either just a bit tender. Take paracetamol and stool softeners and you should be fine xxx worst part for me now is trying to get tinder of this pink lump leftover 😭😭
