Afternoon all,
I had radioiodine treatment 2 weeks ago for an overactive thyroid. After a few days, I noticed that when I swallowed, it felt odd. Sticky is probably the best way to describe it. Then I felt like I had a lump in my throat and for the last couple of days, it feels like the gap of getting food down is getting smaller and smaller, like my throat is swelling. I'm having to have my foot cut into really small pieces otherwise it gets stuck.
Can anyone who has had this tell me if it's common? Is it normal? My GP says to ring my consultant but I can't get anyone from there to call me! I've Googled but everything I find talks about radiotherapy treatment for cancer, which I believe is different to the tablet form that I had.
Thanks
