Private GP services

Can anyone recommend a private GP service?

I've given up with my GP, have had an ear infection for nearly 3 weeks, 1 course of antibiotics haven't cleared it, topical steroids have made it worse. GP now says nothing else they can do (over the phone without even looking at it). I'm in so much pain in my ear, neck and jaw and totally deaf in that ear. I just someone to have a look and take me seriously!!

I did a trial of Babylon once but I think that's just an online thing? We have a Spire hospital nearby but willing to travel if a place is recommended. At this point cost isn't a factor!!!

Oh wow that’s so bad they haven’t even seen you in person. Yes Babylon is just for video and phone calls. If you can get an appointment on Babylon they will be able to refer you to a private ENT but that will be costly! Where about in the UK are you?

This is appalling op. You don't need a private gp though you need to request/demand a face to face with your current gp. The fact you're deaf in that ear should warrant an examination if nothing else. Push for an appointment. I sometimes find advanced nurse practitioners far more thorough and knowledgeable than GPs so maybe try and get an appointment with an ANP?

@LuckyAmy1986 I'm in the East Midlands.

@JaniieJones We have no ANP's at our surgery which is a real shame. The last practice I was with had them and they were great.

Will try them again tomorrow then maybe try Babylon as a back up. Thanks

We use a private GP but I'm in the South East and they don't have nationwide branches so no point in my naming them. I can thoroughly recommend going private if you can afford to, though. I mean, as others have said, obviously you should get seen by an NHS GP - but good luck with that!
