Nipple discharge during mammogram

I just had a mammogram as part of an annual screening programme. To both mine and the radiographers surprise, when she released my right breast after having squeezed it in the machine there was a big (fluid but the size of a baked bean) blob of white/yellow discharge on the machine just where my nipple had been. Did not happen with the other breast or with the same breast for the second position. Freaking out now... Has anyone had discharge from the squeezing of a mammogram?

Yes, I've had that. No exaggeration to say there was loads of it and it went all over the floor 😳. I hope you're OK

My mum did.

Wow! That much? Thanks for your reply. That makes me feel better. May I ask if you were breastfeeding around that time or whether it was entirely unexpected? Last time I breastfed was 14 years ago..

Last time I breast fed was 18 years ago and yet I still lactate sometimes….. tmi but especially if I’ve been sexually active and they’ve paid particular attention to my breasts it seems to bring it on Confused

No, hadn't breast fed for years. It was entirely unexpected and the radiographer seemed surprised too. Everything was fine 🙂

Thanks for that info. Reassuring to hear all was fine. @hagfish, was your mum ok too or was this a sign of something more sinister, if you don't mind me asking?
