Is this shingles?

I thought I had shingles but there's no rash come up. Is that common or have I misdiagnosed myself to the doctor?

My skin is so painful it feels raw on my left side - rib cage to hip area. But no rash, it just feels hot to the touch.

I'm on day 6 of the antiviral meds. Pain gets worse every day, I need the paracetamol/ibuprofen to function, I certainly know when it's time to take more. Considering upgrading to the co codamol today.

Last time I got shingles was 15 years ago so I can't remember everything but I definitely had a rash. I have had immense stress to deal with over the past few months which is why I thought shingles when the ache and pain started..
Has anyone had shingles without a rash, or any other suggestions. I'm wondering if I need to speak to GP again next week.

If you get the anti virals pretty quickly then your rash won't be too bad. I went to GP the first day I had "tingling" got anti virals and as a result hardly any rash.

Oh you poor thing, how odd because I have the exact same thing on my left side 🤦🏼‍♀️ feels EXACTLY like shingles pain but no rash! I'm planning to see my GP if it doesn't clear up in a day or so, I hope you feel better soon.
