Multiple sore throats

Since about July I've had about 5 instances of sore throats. I've got one again, well it's tonsillitis this time. I've got a 15 month old... has anyone else noticed their immune system is different after having a baby? I've never been a sickly person ever so I don't know what's changed.

Yes! I hardly ever used to be poorly, but not sure if lockdown or having a baby related but seem to catch much more now. Never really had a sore throat before but had 3 lots in the past year! There's a weird not sore but feels weird throat thing going around too.

Sorry you've experienced this too but also glad it's not just me! I had the worst cold ever a few months ago and my throat felt as bad as tonsillitis without being tonsillitis. I hate being so sickly it's just not me at all @Ricetwisty wonder if there's anything we can do to boost our immune systems!?

I've been taking vitamin D and a multivitamin and trying to eat well and get some exercise, but my friends have all found this year worse for colds etc so unfortunately seems its inevitable a bit! Hopefully won't be as bad once through winter.

Funny you should post this OP, as since having DD3 and DD (9 months) I am way more prone to sore throats! I also never had tonsillitis until after having children. So strange!

@squirrelnutkins1 it definitely has mine! I also have a prolapse to add to the joy of post partum issues! Needless to say, we are stopping at two kids. 😂

I get sore throats/ “period flu” before my period; there’s a hormonal link (I can’t remember what!) so maybe it’s a hormonal thing for you too?

Have you tried gargling regularly with dilute TCP?

If it's persistent tonsillitis then you can speak to your GP about a tonsillectomy
