Cranberries or ...?

A relative has historically had cancer (now clear) and has ongoing heart and digestive issues.
I understand that they are advised ti avoid eating cranberries, presumably because of adverse interactions with medication.
What could they have as an alternative? Are lingonberries ok?
We usually host Christmas and I don't want to make them I'll!

Just leave them out or serve but presumably they know what they can and can't eat?

Apple sauce instead of cranberry sauce would be a good sub.
