Gastritis

Hello, I've posted a while back regarding the same issue , which seems to have revisited me after taking an anti inflammatory over a month ago.

Can anyone please let me know their gatritis symptoms?

I've got this on and off stabbing like pain near ny left breast, gurgling stomach, burning ( which has subsided) sore stomach just under the breastbone and chest tightness. I've been to emergency as I thought I was having a heart attack which was ruled out with bloods and ecg.

Dr has prescribed protoprazole which I don't believe is helping at all and I need to have a helicobactor breath test.

I'm at my wits end.....is this gastritis?

Sounds very similar to when I had it, it didn’t get better overnight, I had to take the tablets for a month and took about 3 weeks to even start feeling remotely better, had back pain for months after though. I took paracetamol aswell, not nurofen as I’d taken it first and apparently it makes it worse.
It’s left me with IBS and GERD.... I live with it now but 2017 was one of the worse years and then to top it off at Christmas I ended up with Australian flu 😷

I have gastritis OP, had it for over 15 years and I'm on 40mg of Omeprazole daily.

My symptoms are a gnawing pain in my upper stomach which during a bad episode will radiate into my back. The pain is awful but It's definitely improved over the years. I also get the gurgling tummy and I often find if I burp it relieves the pain for a minute or so.

It does sound as though it could be gastritis. You have my sympathy, I know how painful it can be.

I don't believe the protoprozole has helped, mind you I was only told to take it for 7 day, and I believe I need to be on it longer to see any improvement. My chest pain hasn't Improved either or the stomach discomfort. Wish there was a magic pill to take!

My (probable) gastritis was massively improved by going teetotal and giving up coffee / reducing other drinks containing caffeine. Took a while to have an effect but I’m mostly fine now.

Seen a number of posts on here about gastritis and pretty sure it's what I'm experiencing after taking NSAIDS for dry socket pain
I've been prescribed omeprazole by the doctors however I'm not sure it's really making a difference. I have taken these for around 3 weeks already (initially one a day for first 2 weeks but then they upped the dose to 2 a day)
How long do they generally take to work? I have odd days where I have little to no pain however most days it's like a stitch like pain in my left abdomen, pain under my rips and gurgling and burning all over my stomach. This often radiates to my left shoulder blade and back
I don't want to waste the doctors time as I've still got another few weeks before I'm finished the prescribed dose but also don't want to wait another few weeks if it's not working for me.
The pain most days bare-able but some days are very uncomfortable and I can't seem to pinpoint anything that triggers it
