DD's skin not healing

In June DD had what appeared to be bites all over her legs and torso. By September they'd not healed and I discovered DD was picking the scabs. Managed to get her to stop and the torso patches have healed over, with scars.

Antibiotics a month ago reduced the red patches and the scabs finally fell off, leaving big red scars. The GP thinks it could be a rash from having gluten as DD is coeliac and has referred her to dermatology, which could take 18 weeks.

More worryingly, DD grazed her ankle two weeks ago and it's barely scabbed over in that time, certainly hasn't got near healing. I've also found new patches of broken skin, same as the original patches, which are itchy for DD and worrying for me! GP has ruled out the usual impetigo etc.

Has anyone had issues with skin not healing? I don't know if the coeliac is impacting healing, it could be.

Sorry, antibiotics a month ago were for the leg patches as they'd not healed and became infected.

Could she have Crohn's as well as coeliac? It's not hugely uncommon to have both, and Crohn's is associated with a variety of rashes including
Erythema nodosum which can look a bit like swollen insect bites?

Thank you, I'd not considered that. Looking at lots of pictures online Erythema nodosum looks to be more raised bumps and these are smaller scabby dots. She also doesn't have any of the Crohn's symptoms but I'll keep it in mind. I know once you have an autoimmune disease you're more likely to be diagnosed with another.

Lots of these, and strangely they all have new hair growing around them. Confused
