Hi all
Can I ask you lovely lot something? Today at the GP, I had to lie completely flat for a test. When others had left the room I could feel that my stomach slightly protrudes more on the left side. I haven’t got much belly fat so have always seen a strong pulse and the firm / raised area is the same place. My belly is soft all over but definitely firm in an area to the left under my tummy button. Any ideas? Reassurance? Of course Dr Google says AAA which is enough to give me a nervous breakdown on top of what I’m already dealing with 😭 anyone else have a slightly raised area on the left? A hard / firm area below where it’s raised? Not really a lump I guess?

Could be your bowel? The descending colon runs down the left side, where it turns from the transverse colon under your rib cage. An AAA would be your aorta which runs slightly left of centre down from your heart, and highly unlikely, I would think!

Yes, very very unlikely! And yet it definitely protrudes! It doesn’t feel as far down or left as bowel. It’s just left of midline and firmer on left. Was just hoping someone could say they have the same or normal! Not often I lie flat on my back so didn’t notice it before or how strong my pulse is there! 🙈😬

It could be impacted bowel. Do go have slow gut transit?

TrevorFountain · 04/11/2021 01:10

Your gut is a very long and wide thing!

Louisethemum · 04/11/2021 01:13

@TrevorFountain no, I hadn’t eaten for hours, no bloating and had been the toilet etc etc
