Is this a kidney infection?

Have never had one before so not sure what to expect.
Had pain in lower back and abdomen for about 2 weeks but that stopped about a week ago.
Starting Sunday I thought I had blood when wiping after urinating. This morning I've had much more each time after urinating.
I have no pain at all.

I'll be going to the doctor as soon as I can but just wondering if this sounds like a kidney infection, if anyone whos had one before can tell me?

Visible blood steaks in urine, or dark urine due to blood in it?

If it's the first one I'd suggest an urgent trip to your GUM clinic as I found them fantastically fast at dealing with gynaecologist stuff. That wouldn't likely be a kidney infection, but does need checking it quickly, especially if post menopause

When I had a kidney infection it was incredibly painful (rolling on the floor wailing in pain). I had to get my dad to drive me to the doctors as I couldn't walk the 5 mins up the road. I think kidney infections are often very painful so it may be something else. Something is wrong though, so get to the docs (may be worth taking a urine sample with you). Hope you are better soon.

Hi,
I had quite bloody urine a few months ago, but no pain at all, no fever or urine infection signs.
I went to the doctors who did a urine test and gave me antibiotics and cleared up straight away.

Thanks all. It did turn out to be an infection so have antibiotics and am on the mend.
