I've changed my name for this because really it's not very nice to talk discharge but I am a little bit worried.
I am mid cycle at the moment and I have very bllody discharge. My period has not restarted because it different from a period discharge. Do you think it might be something to do with my coil?

you can have bleeding on and off after you have a coil, for anywhere up to 6 months, IIRC

notverynice · 11/12/2007 22:31

My coil was fitted over 2 years ago

my sister got pregnant with a coil fitted. alarming thought, but could you be?

notverynice · 11/12/2007 22:34

Oh shit, don't say that, although it had crossed my mind.

you should be checked out

chances of getting pregnant with a coil are v.v.v. small but does slightly increase cahnce of ectopic, so must be ruled out

I'm so pathetic, I really hate going to the doctors for anything too embarrassing.

it is not pathetic

the thought of baring your fanjo to the doctor is not a pleasant one, but a necessary evil

sure it will be nothing sinister

GrinningSoul · 11/12/2007 22:49

i've had the coil for nearly 2 years. i don't have a clue where i am in my cycle - i have totally erratic bleeding, not really like period bleeding, and it goes on for different lengths of time each time. there's no pattern. how does this compare with your experiences and your current bleeding?

notverynice · 11/12/2007 22:52

My periods are usually bang on time, it's a copper coil rather than a mirena. It's not really like a period though, it's more like very bllod streaked ovulation discharge. (sorry that really is yuk!)
