Post covid air pockets lungs

Hi,

DH went for an x ray recently, 9 months since having Covid because he is still a bit wheezy at times, although he plays football and swims etc.

The GP said he had some 'air pockets on his lower lungs' and asked had he ever worked with asbestos or smoked. She was very vague and has 'referred' him (we do not know to whom) but that was a month or so ago, and no appointment yet. Since she mentioned asbestos I feel really anxious that there is something irrversibly wrong with my husband and that he hasn't had it explained to him correctly. He hasn't worked with asbestos, but has done lots of DIY. The occasional wheeziness is since Covid. He had no chest symptoms prior to this.

Has anyone been told similar and what was it?

Sorry, when I say lots of DIY that's probably an overstatement but he does do it when needed. His career was office based.

I would call the Gp and ask for them to explain and ask where the referral has been made to and how long you can expect to wait
