I've not been this ill for years!

I suffer poor health, I have a neurological disability that affects my life a lot and suffer constant pain and mobility problems.

But 2 days ago I came down with a kidney infection and I have not been this ill in 10-15 years. I'm on strong antibiotics for acute pyelonephritis, taking anti sickness meds and am feeling like warmed up sick. I had kidney problems related to pregnancy but my youngest dc is now 17, so it's been a long time. I've now developed a kidney stone and am waiting on dh coming home to see if I'm going to need to go to A&e. I've had sepsis in this situation before and I'm terrified. I'm drinking huge amounts of water and moving about as much as I can but I'm utterly miserable!

Just ranting really. I'm not a good patient!

I'm sorry you're so poorly! Are you drinking?

I'm happy to say I managed to pee out my small stone a wee while back. Feeling in less pain but still feverish and miserable. Dh is a gp and has checked me over, nothing much more to do except keeping up the antibiotics (which are the main reason I'm nauseous).

How lucky you are to have a gp for a husband. He’ll be looking after you and will make sure you get any help you need. Get well soon.

Nah he's got no sympathy, I'm sure (in fact I know) that he is a darling to his patients and they love him, but the best I'll get are some old anti sickness tabs from the bottom of his briefcase!

He has made sure I'm not too hot and brought me cold water. I'm aching for a cheese sandwich as it's at least 2 days since I had anything, but I've got to wait till bake-off is over for that!

@weegiemum You poor thing, hope you’re feeling better today!

Thankyou you lovely nest of vipers!

Yesterday I picked up a bit and started to feel more like myself, I managed to eat a bit. Today again I feel better. No more kidney stones either so I think I'm going to be fine.

I just felt dreadful, like I'd never be ok again. I was worried as I've had sepsis in the past, but nope, the antibiotics have done their job this time!

That's fantastic news! Still look after yourself - it doesn't have to be sepsis to mean you're properly poorly. Kidney infections are just horrible.

Oh how horrible you've been feeling so deathly. Yeah kidney infections are scary. Glad you're on the mend. Take it easy.
