Hello

I have had a search and can’t find anything but am maybe looking in the wrong place.

Is there a thread here for those of us with partners undergoing cancer testing/recently diagnosed/undergoing treatment.

I have read the one for posters with cancer (which Looks very supportive) but did not want to gate crash there.

DP had a mole biopsied in early September and told by the dermatologist it was prob cancer but a «low risk one». Turns out he was wrong and it is melanoma.

He had his first wide extraction in early October and was told it was Stage 1b. He had a second wider one 2 weeks later plus he had a swollen lymph node removed.

We got the results of those last week.

The cancer is very aggressive and was found
In the lymph node moving him to stage 3.

He has a brain MRI and full body CT during the first half of November. Hospital have sent his tumor for genetic testing with a view to starting immunotherapy when all the results are in.

So we are in limbo waiting for the scans and the results. The thought of further spread is causing me restless nights and anxiety.

We are being outwardly positive and optimistic and trying to live life fully.

Despite to worry and sadness there is a lot of happiness and love. DP and I met after both leaving abusive miserable marriages. We are So happy and I just want to cry at the thought he may not reach a ripe old age.
