I have health anxiety and everything worries me

Id really love private health care but can't afford something like bupa

I think Benenden is somewhere between bupa and nothing

If anyone has any experience I'd love to hear it

Hi, I have it. Also took it out for my mum and dad. I think it’s really good. After 6 months it pays up to £1800 (I think) for diagnosis, then you would go back to NHS for treatment. I have health anxiety as well and it’s helped when I’ve been referred for something and been really anxious waiting. You need a GP referral but they’ve always been really helpful. I recently got a CT scan quickly and have seen several consultants over the years.

Thats great to know thanks. I had to wait 7 months this year for an ultrasound and it was awful. I can't do it again. I'll phone them tomorrow and join.

Can you access a private GP through this scheme do we know? One who can prescribe? Thanks

I have it too. Big birthday looming (50) led to slight health anxiety developing. For £11 a month I think it’s worth the money as I think it gives you 24/7 access to a private GP from day 1

@SoLongFurlough I'd like to know more about the private GP as I can't get hold of mine for love nor money half the time!

AFAIK they can prescribe but I’m not sure if it would be just as a one off or regular medication. Only joined a few months ago & im generally fairly healthy so haven’t used it yet
