Visible Incision after cataract surgery

I had my second surgery almost 3 weeks ago and it all seemed to go well. However I can very clearly see where an incision was made on the edge of my iris. It’s a very distinct red line and my eye still feels gritty. Is it normal for the incision to be visible in this way?

I work in theatre that does cataract surgery. They're may have been a very minor complication during surgery that needed a small suture (stitch) where as normally the incision heals itself. Have you had your post op check yet?

Poor grammar *there

Thanks for responding. My post-op check isn’t until mid-November, 5 weeks after the operation.

5 weeks post op seems a long delay for the review. In your shoes I would email my surgeon, with a clear photo of the eye and a detailed description of your discomfort and concerns.

Thank you. That sounds a very sensible pan.

4-6 weeks is normal for follow up check. I hope it feels better soon
