Found a lump

I found a lump in my breast yesterday. The surgery were brilliant and fitted me in for an appointment and the GP felt the lump as soon as he examined me and referred me under the 2 week path.

I tried to book the appointment for the clinic online but they had no appointments available. I asked for a callback which they have said they will do by Friday but I'm worried I'll have to wait ages. I also checked our private clinic and they have no appointments either.

The worst thing about this is that I had bowel cancer earlier this year, after two major ops and some treatment I'm fine but I'm just really worried I might now have breast cancer. Surely I couldn't be that unlucky!?!

Probably not but GPs refer all breast lumps to the breast clinic. Two weeks sounds a long time but it will not affect the outcome.
Breast clinics are brilliant and a one stop shop and while your appointment may be a long one you should come away with a result.
You will have a mammogram and see a doctor who will have the results in front of them. They may do an ultrasound and a biopsy. Hopefully they will say it's not cancer but if they think it is (and they will have a pretty good idea), they will tell you.
Good luck

Thanks Skap. I think it was just a shock, my mind immediately thought what if it’s cancer again.

I’m going with I will expect a good outcome and worry if there is a need to.
