Itchy rash after showering

Can anyone help me identify what this rash is... photo not that clear and it can be even redder and more pronounced than this.

It only happens in the colder months after showering or bathing not in summer. Happens even when I use no products, it’s like I’m allergic to the water! My skin also randomly itches on and off during the day though the initial rash fades after an hour or so.

I had it post covid. Have you had it? Had it about a year.

Falafel45 · 20/10/2021 18:56

@Ulrichamelo interesting.... no don’t think I’ve had Covid although did have a horrible cough in summer but negative tests. But to be honest this is something that happens most winters

Is your water hot? I have cholinergic urticaria and so going from cold to hot triggers it

Falafel45 · 20/10/2021 19:01

@NotMyCat thanks, it’s quite hot but not scorching or anything. How did you get diagnosed?

I used to get something like that and with me it was always about temperature reaction. Eg if I have a slightly cool shower on a cold day that minor change in temp sets off a reaction. Hot shower on cold day no problem. Cold dip on hot day no probs.

It could lead to dry patches.

I’ve used double base and more recently just e45 after bathing or showering.

Haven’t had it for ages.

Don’t know if this might be relevant.

Dermatology diagnosed it. Mine is pretty severe and I inject Xolair
It might be worth trying an antihistamine, turn the temp down for a bit then turn it up so your body gets used to it and use something really moisturising to wash with

Falafel45 · 20/10/2021 19:16

@NotMyCatthank you so much. Sorry to hear that yours is bad

I'd say allergy to what your washing with, I have this if I use sanex weirdly (Obvs I don't use it anymore)
