Burning sensations - any ideas?

I started having burning sensations on and off in legs probably a couple of months ago. Put it down to razor burn and didn't think too much of it, until 2 weeks ago when burning suddenly intensified, spread to all over my legs and became constant. Tested positive for covid 2 days later, phoned GP 2 days after that since sensations had spread to abdomen and back. Docs not sure what it is, initial reflex check at GPs seemed OK, but having blood tests this week and they've told me to flag it up at physio appointment I'm also having this week for ongoing problems with my back and legs.

They seem to think it might be an issue with my back which is irritating nerves, but I don't see how it can be affecting basically the entire lower half of my body!

I'm really freaked out about the whole thing - my health has really taken a dive since giving birth 3 and a half years ago, and I'm so worried something more sinister is going on, particularly as my mobility seems to be deteriorating and I'm have other issues with tiredness and digestion.

Anyone got any ideas? Know I may have answers soon, but driving myself potty!

It sounds very much like it is to do with your nerves. I would be pushing to see a neurologist. I hope it improves,. Is it affecting your movement at all?

Thanks, been having problems with movement for a while. Its still being looked into, but I do apparently have osteoarthritis in my back. A few months ago started having difficulties with left leg - finding it hard to lift it, put it into shoes etc, walk up stairs, etc- but my left knee is now also knackered (GP thinks it's the cartilage as knee keeps giving way) so not sure if that's causing the leg issues. Although now I hink about it, maybe the burning sensations started around the same time...

A herniated (slipped) disc in your spine that pushes on your spinal cord can affect any part of your body below that level. I get a burning feeling in my leg, have trouble lifting one leg high enough when walking, get pins and needles, and also the really strange one where it feels like the skin on my leg is wet.

Ah,sometimes the burning on my side is more like I've got a wet top pressing against it. Can slipped disaster fixed??

I'm doing ok, thank you for asking - very long story, but it turned out I had a spinal meningioma that was compressing my spinal cord. So the burning sensation was just the tip of the iceberg! Had the tumour removed back on January, and things much better - just getting on with physio now as I've been left with a weakened left leg, and keeping fingers crossed that the damaged nerves repair themselves.
