Only one is itchy (the right one if thats relevant) it is driving me crazy. It seems to be the nipple that is the problem and its quite tender. I'm not breastfeeding and haven't changed my diet or washing powder. Its been 3 days now and its stopping me from sleeping and getting quite sore in an itchy kind of way. Any suggestions please

Could you have been bitten by something?

I'd probably go to the docs tbh if it is still itchy in a couple of days.

I goggled it for you Shakey..

There seem to be lots of other people around the net with similar problem. This woman's question was answered by NetDoctor..
"Itchy nipple for three days

Question

I have had an itchy left nipple for three days, which is annoying me. What is the likely cause and how can I stop it?

Answer

Because you've only had this problem for a few days, I don't expect it is anything to worry about.

The itching may be due to rubbing, say on a rough material, or if you do exercise like jogging.

Itching on and around the nipple can also be due to a form of eczema, and will respond to mild steroid creams.

You could try some hydrocortisone cream 1%, which is available over the counter from the chemist.

If the problem persists, then you will need to get your doctor to check it out - but don't be worried, it is very unlikely it is due to anything serious.

I would try the hydrocortisone cream first, and if it does not go away, let your GP see it.

Yours sincerely

Nope no biting action of any sort. It looks a bit off colour too.

I get itchy nipples but it's eczema and I have it all over. It's probably something and nothing but I would go and see your doctor as an itchy nipple can be one of the warning signs of breast cancer. But as I said, it could be any number of skin conditions so don't panic!

Thanks shiney. Must say the thought of it being caused by jogging made me laugh. Excersize and i don't mix. Its altogether wierd at the moment it looks like the veins are slightly raised too.
