Does anyone know if croupe is infectious? I've read the nhs website and I don't think it is.
I think ds has mild croupe/very bad cough and I am not sure whether to keep him home or not.
Any ideas?

Keep him at home. He wwants his mum when feeling grotty.

don't know about infectious but he will probably feel rubbish and you will get the inevitable phone call asking you to collect him anyway

He has been very cuddly/clingy (which is very unusal for him and quite nice for me) but he is more back to his normal self now, but with this honking cough still.

No idea if its infectious but whetever set it off might be. I imagine the nursery wont want him anyhow.

Agree. Contagious or not, he won't like being at nursery when he's ill. Nor is it fair on the staff or the other children. Keep him at home.

Croup itself isn't infectious but the virus which triggers it is. If he is under the weather and /or having disturbed sleep asa result he isn't up to goign tbh.
