Ear infection

Hi wondered if anyone could help Iv been deaf in one ear for a couple of weeks but no pain a few days ago the pain started so went to the doctors they gave me an antibiotic spray called otomize been using it 3 times a day and the pain has got a lot worse called the doctors again today and they didn't give me a face to face appointment just a phone call and I feel like he fobbed me off a bit with amoxicillin 500mg. I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance from anyone that's had an ear infection that the amoxicillin did actually work as the pain is unbearable and the deafness is driving me mad!

Poor you! I’ve had lots of ear infections and amoxicillin does nothing for me (sorry, this isn’t the reassurance you asked for). If the pain is unbearable - and it can be, I know - I should ring the out-of-hours GP’s number or go to a Walk In Centre. I hope you feel better soon OP!
