Arm feels like it’s sunburnt…

..but it’s not, my entire forearm! Also have a few spots this morning appear on my hip (not sure if this is connected) and feel generally run down.

Any ideas what this could be? Going to ring the GP tomorrow

I had that and it was a trapped nerve in my elbow. Felt like a really deep burn down the side of my arm and up half of my hand.

Shingles, I had this recently and it started with skin feeling sunburnt. The Dr should/might prescribe antivirals if it is shingles.

Butterchunks · 13/10/2021 18:06

Maybe ring 111 as the antivirals work best the sooner you get them (if it is shingles)

Wingingthis · 13/10/2021 18:17

Thanks everyone I’ll give them a ring. Bit panicky now as I have a 3 year old & 1 year old and don’t want them to catch shingles if it is :(

They can't catch shingles from you (nor can anyone else). They may get chickenpox though if they haven't had it before.

freshcarnation · 13/10/2021 20:41

Yes shingles. Get the anti virals ASAP

gardeninggirl68 · 13/10/2021 20:45

agree, shingles

thats exactly how i described the burning feeling

Wingingthis · 13/10/2021 21:06

Thanks everyone!! I rang 111 (nhs online advised this too) and they should be ringing me back in the next hour. Just trying to stay awake now as I’m exhausted!

Exactly how shingles felt for me before the rash of spots appeared. Feel better soon!

olidora63 · 14/10/2021 22:23

Definitely shingles. My son described the discomfort as sun burn on Boxing Day…by the evening the blisters started appearing.
