Throat sore pic tmi

I had a cough and sore throat for 2 weeks, not Covid. Had tonsils out when I was 5. Still got a bit of a sore throat, had a look with an ear camera and saw this weird lump? Is it where my tonsil would have been? It was very sore on that side. Nothing on the other side. Don’t know whether to wait a few more days or get GP appt. Thanks.

Could you send thst photo to your gp? Looks like an abscess to me. I am not by any means an expert.
Have you got a high temp?

Thanks endofthelinefinally, I’ve had no temp throughout, just felt really tired, yes I will ask my GP if I can send the pics in.

You can still have tonsillar tissue left, even if you have had them out. It is funny stuff and full of crypts and caverns. You can get pockets of infection which can be serious and need surgical intervention. Better to get it looked at IMO.
