Flu Jab - Did you experience side effects after?

I’m having my first one this week! I tend to be unlucky with side effects from jabs! Nothing serious, just the usual, although was terrible after first covid vax.

nope. felt absolutely bar a slightly sore arm after flu jab.

After both covid jab had an achy arm and was really lethargic for a few days. After the whooping cough vaccine (a few days after the flu jab) i felt really ill so would not recommend having those too close together

Igmum · 11/10/2021 16:25

None at all (phew). I frankly bottled getting a flu jab until last year because Ddad always reckoned he got ill after his. DM didn't so I clearly take after her because I was fine this year and last. My COVID-19 vaccine (AZ) knocked me out for a week (dose one) and an afternoon (dose two). Good luck OP

fourquenelles · 11/10/2021 16:26

No, nope, nothing not even a sore arm.

Magissa · 11/10/2021 16:27

Last years flu jab made me feel unwell for a day or two but this year I had a sore arm for about ten minutes and nothing else.

RavenclawsRoar · 11/10/2021 16:30

No but then I never seem to react to vaccines.

Evenstar · 11/10/2021 16:31

Had mine yesterday, I had a sore arm almost straight away, but that is OK today, had to take a painkiller during the night due to pains in my legs.

I do have fibromyalgia though and think I react more to things, I have had other years when I didn’t have any problems and I have had a flu jab due to asthma for over 20 years.

megletthesecond · 11/10/2021 16:32

I've had them the last 3 years. Just an achy arm for a few hours that's all. I'm 47.

AuntieStella · 11/10/2021 16:32

Not this year. I usually get a sore arm, but not even that this time

SpittinKitten · 11/10/2021 16:33

I'm now into a decade of flu jabs, and I've never had anything more than half a day of aching arm on the odd occasion.

KateTheEighth · 11/10/2021 16:35

None at all

Forgot I'd had it until DH asked me why I was still wearing the plaster 4 days later (I do shower, honest..)

Olly2021 · 11/10/2021 16:38

Like you, I also felt terrible after 1st covid jab (AZ). I have felt a little ill after flu jabs previously, but this year's flu jab gave me no side effects other than a very slightly sore arm.

starfishmummy · 11/10/2021 16:40

Yes. Aching muscles and shivering (but no fever), and very tired

Blossom4538 · 11/10/2021 20:38

Thanks all!

I have it every year and never get ill from it. Whatever was in last year's strain made me really ill though. Felt like I had flu for 24 hours afterwards

poolshtha · 11/10/2021 20:46

Nothing beyond a slightly achy arm for a few hours.

Angel2702 · 11/10/2021 20:47

Yes never have any side effects from any jabs including covid jabs. But this year’s flu jab had me on the sofa barely able to do anything the following day. Absolutely fine the next day though.

Silversilverstreet · 11/10/2021 20:47

I had my flu jab on Saturday and got nothing, no side effects and not even a plaster!

GoodnightGrandma · 11/10/2021 20:47

No.
We all had it at work, not one side effect.

CosmicComfort · 11/10/2021 21:09

Awful sore arm and just generally feeling washed out for a couple of days.
Had my covid booster recently as well and that gave me headaches and extreme tiredness for 2 days.

A couple of colleagues had both together and felt awful afterward.

kissmelittleass · 11/10/2021 21:45

I've been having it for about ten years now and usually only have a sore arm for about 2-3 days but this time I had a sore armpit, felt as if it was bruised inside was very sore for about 4 days I was quite worried actually

SiobhanSharpe · 11/10/2021 21:47

Sore arm for 24-48 hours, but only really noticeable if I knocked it against something.

DuckWithOneWing · 11/10/2021 22:43

I don't usually get side effects, but this year I felt very ill for several days

DramaAlpaca · 11/10/2021 22:44

I've never had a bad reaction to a flu jab.

Noway100 · 11/10/2021 22:46

I experienced none whatsoever.

UnusuallyUsual · 11/10/2021 23:00

Funnily enough I always feel ill after my flu jab so I stopped having it. I thought maybe I would have the same sort of side effects with the covid jab but nothing apart from an achy arm. I have been offered the flu jab again but I'm in 2 minds if I will take it
