Hi,
I am sorry for posting on here as I don't like to be a nuisance. A few months back, my mum passed away and I was completely devastated by it. I suffer from pancreatic enzyme deficiency and ever since it has flared up. I have to take Creon and Fortisip and Fortijuice but ever since losing my mum, I have really given up, and the pain has got worse. I use to weigh about 11 stone when I got my condition under control but now I am about 7 stone 7 pounds and my height is about 5 ft 10". As I have lost a lot of weight, it is noticable and after being told before that I either look too skinny or when weight is on I look bloated by colleagues, I wondered if you had any advice on what I could say when the weight goes back on?

Thank you in advance.

Unexplained weight loss is a symptom that you need to discuss with your GP

Sorry to read that you're going through such a tough time Flowers

I agree that you probably need a chat with your gp about this weight loss to make sure there’s nothing going on that needs checking.

If your colleagues comment on weight gain, I’d just say you’re pleased they’ve noticed you’re looking healthier. Or say it’s none of their business.

So sorry for your loss. Flowers

Hi. So sorry about the loss of your mum, I know from experience how devastating this can be. I agree with pp, you do need to contact your gp to find out if there is a physical cause for your weight loss as you are quite underweight. If it is anxiety related due to bereavement then your gp will also be able to help with this. Please do not feel you are being a 'nuisance' contacting your gp, your health is very important. As for what to say to your colleagues, I agree with pp.
