I've had the cold thats not Covid for the last week and it's slowly going.

Has anyone else had it and had nausea? For the last couple of days I keep feeling really nauseous and sickly.

Its blimmin dreadful . Yes I felt nauseous. Not actual physical sickness though .It started the weekend before, typical covid symptoms and I got sent home from work until I got tested .negative off course.
The weeks after ( last monday) I was in bed..3 days this floored me .. on my week off .. I never have time off sick but had I been at work I'd have gone sick , my head hurt , sneezing constantly, coughing , my throat felt like I'd eaten cut glass .. extreme fatigue , I'm getting better .. it's all the mucus now I'm bringing up and the rattling on my chest . I havent been ill enough for bed for many many years but this absolutely wiped me out .back to work tomorrow I've wasted a week annual leave

Thistledew · 10/10/2021 17:33

I've had a cough for 6 weeks now. I've tried two different types of antibiotics, which have had no effect at all so it is obviously all viral. Several COVID tests have all come back negative. I start to think it is easing up but it just changes the symptoms.

ladymuck111 · 11/10/2021 11:40

It's been a week since I started feeling rough with this. I'm still congested and feeling washed out and I still have this awful nausea.

I've had it a week now. I feel tons better than what I did but I still have a chesty cough and rattle when I'm breathing. I'm also having a hard time breathing at the moment and I'm finding myself having to stop when I'm talking to catch my breath. Covid test came back negative. Unfortunately I've still had to work through mine. Even though I didn't find out until yesterday it isn't Covid and I work with elderly and vulnerable people

ExtraFirmHold · 12/10/2021 08:01

Im on week 2 now and nothing seems to be easing up. Im on antibiotics now because my ear drum ruptured after the cold caused an ear infection. I cant remeber being this ill in such a long time. I had covid and this is worse. Im so fatigued and so so mucousy. The breathlessness is worrying too. Same as pp, I find im having to catch my breath during conversations. Same as everybody else, negatove covid tests.
Here's hoping this passes soon because its exhausting.

My symptoms so far have been different but I now have serious light headedness. So glad to have stumbled across this. Symptoms have developed as follows:

Day 1 (around 1am) - woke with fever and headache. Upset stomach with loose stool but only once. Temp only 'slightly' raised. By end of the day headache only slight then gone. Managed with paracetamol. No more fever recorded.

PCR booked and taken.

Day 2 - woke up to negative PCR. slept fine, no high temp recorded, no headache. But sore throat/feeling of swollen glands. Managed with paracetamol and lozenges. Managed a walk to the pharmacy for these and more drinks from shop, all fine.

Afternoon - light headedness hits. Not nausea, no vomiting, no spinning dizziness, just feeling like I'm floating when I walk. Very odd and unsettling.

Day 3 (today) - no more sore throat. Light headedness persists. Ring 111 (as this is just so odd to me and I live alone so extra worry). Just received a call back from the doctor who has prescribed something for the feeling. Explained that it's linked to a virus and 'crystals in the brain' that have been affected due most likely to a blocked valve (or something like that) which is causing it.

All very strange to me as I've not had any blocked nose, cough or anything that I'd say you'd typically have with an illness. Am keen to hear any similar experiences

mizu · 14/10/2021 13:05

DD2 15 has something similar. She has not been off school since infants and she's year 11 now. Never ill.

Been off all week. Headache, horrible sore throat and a bit of a cough - and knackered.

She was hoping to go in today, managed to get dressed and then felt all hot and tired and is now fast asleep.

Negative PCR on Sunday. Doctor says it's doing the rounds and lots of people have similar.

Poor thing, she's thoroughly miserable as just not used to it !

FortunaMajor · 14/10/2021 13:20

I've got it too.

Lots of sneezing, a rattling cough and sore throat. Also feeling very light headed but no nausea. No signs of phlegm or thick snot, just a watery very runny nose.

I know I shouldn't be have done, but I took Pholcodine Linctus yesterday and feel a lot better today as a result. It dries everything up. It shouldn't be taken for productive coughs or anything akin to bronchitis. I now have a slightly tight chest, but all of the head cold symptoms are gone. I haven't tried to do much today, but might try a short walk this afternoon.

TheRealMrsMorningstar · 14/10/2021 13:33

Dd2 and I both had it. Finally better after weeks.

Dd2 had a temp, cough, fatigue/lethargy, snottiest nose ever. It lasted over 3 weeks - this girl gets ill but bounces back really quickly normally, this went on and on.

Me, I had a cough which became chesty and I became a bit breathless intermittently (I'm asthmatic but normally well managed). Sore throat and tiredness.

Both had PCR but negative.

Dh and dd1 had a mild barely there cold for less than 24 hours - both have had COVID a year ago. We all, except dd2, are double vaccinated against covid about 8 months ago - I genuinely thought me and dd2 had caught it but apparently not - just a horrible cold.

Had this similar last week and this week but the rattling cough and sore throat were luckily minimal.

Add to mine sinus pain and headaches, fatigue, achey generally and no sleeping plus palpitations. Pleased it's abated somewhat. Oh and wheezy/breathless but do get mild asthma.

Yellow85 · 14/10/2021 16:23

We’ve all had it in our house. It’s horrible. The kids got it really bad, got better for a couple of days then it hit again for round 2! We’ve had 6 PCR’s each in the last 3 weeks as we’ve all came down with it at different times.

We eventually seen GP who said they’re seeing loads of people with it and it’s a right stinker that seems to come in waves of reinfection. We’ve to expect post viral cough for months.

AuntieStella · 14/10/2021 16:28

I've got it. And DC had it - not the bing-bong covid symptoms, so we didn't book PCR but we've all been LFT regularly and all negative.

We've been lucky and not had it as badly as some on this thread. Just cold symptoms and feeling really, really tired

ThePoisonousMushroom · 14/10/2021 16:30

Yes. I’m on day 9ish of the cold from hell. Have felt nauseous throughout, and had a few episodes of actual vomiting.
I’m so done with it. I keep thinking ‘ill feel better tomorrow’ then tomorrow comes and I don’t feel any better!

Littleroundsponge · 14/10/2021 16:30

I've got it at the moment, been ill since last Friday and still feeling horrendous. My legs feel like lead and I have no energy, my cough is awful and none stop. Also started getting nausea a couple of days ago. It's properly shit Sad

ThePoisonousMushroom · 14/10/2021 16:31

And yes, it’s far worse than when I had Covid!

KurtWilde · 14/10/2021 16:37

DD11 has this just now, after the older ones just got over it in the last couple of weeks. She started with sore throat, sneezing, headache and vomiting, earache, temp was 39 but it's come down with calpol, achy legs, very tired, dizzy, no appetite. Worse than when she had covid!

MagentaRocks · 14/10/2021 17:16

Come down with it this week.SD has had it, and we haven’t been able to escape it. Both me and DH have a PCR booked this evening. Not expecting it to be COVID, SD was negative but as we are coughing we need to check. Luckily I can work from home so not too bad for me. Still feel like shit though.

blitzen · 14/10/2021 19:28

I've had this too. It peaked last week with the nausea and I did throw up in the middle of the night. Thankfully the nausea went after that and my appetite has returned. Still snotty though and must be getting on for three weeks now.

FindingMeno · 14/10/2021 19:30

I had this. After a week or so being well again I got covid Sad
