Causes of high eye pressure

I had my eyes tested for the first time in years today and the opician said I had quite a high reading (25) but said that all other tests were fine so she didn't think it was a glaucoma related pressure.

I'm wondering what else could cause it? I hated having the air thing and instead she used a probe that she said would touch my eyeball which freaked me out even more. She said she thought it might be inaccurate readings on her machines rather than an actual problem but I'm a little worried by it and am convinced my eyeballs are about to explode!

I exist on a diet of stress and rarely feel like I've had enough sleep! I also had a crap night's sleep last night and a hangover this morning!

I have the same problem and been going for hospital appointments on a 6 monthly basis for about 5 years.

My readings are usually about 22-25 but have been over 30. My opthalmic doctor said he couldn't understand why I don't have any problems with the pressure being consistently high.

They do say if you tense up or flinch that the pressure will read high. My old doctor was horrible so they changed him to a much nicer gentler one but I still get a high reading.
