thought I was quite fit as walk loads but went for an actual run (only 20 mins) and completely out of breath, slunk back into the house feeling most ashamed of my efforts! Any runners out there, is this normal? or should i just go back to my nice gentle pilates/yoga..
any recs on how to ease yourself in etc appreciated.

flippin heck did 10 mintues the other day and collpased...sounds not bad at all..don't train myself but the advice dh gave me when he got really fit and had to train every day was this..

don't run before you can walk...start off by jogging once around the block eg. 5 mins...stop and rest

next day do another 2 minutes extra..day 3 another 2 minutes (or an extra lampost or something) and keep doing this in little by little stages...he did this for 3 months and could jog for 5 miles by the end of it (13 miles in job too!)...is there a reason you want to jog or do you just want to stop couch potatoing iykwim

Hi your dh has done well then! I'm just trying to get the double whammy of fresh air & exercise, no more than that really but thought it would be more relaxing, calming than a gym (and free of course!)
