Long term antibiotics

Hi,
I’ve been on Lymecycline for almost 2 years now, I was prescribed it for cystic acne just before covid hit and they said they will review in 3 months, that didn’t happen for covid reasons so I just kept getting my repeat prescription thinking I would until someone told me otherwise.
The antibiotic worked but I’m scared to stop in case the acne comes back, it was really really bad.
Anyway now I’ve just clicked that I feel like shit and I think I have since I started taking them, I have stomach issues on and off and migraines at least once a week and i wondering if it’s that?
I don’t know how long antibiotics are safe to take for and if it’s messing up my immune system?? I would call the doctor and ask but it’s impossible to get through…. Has anyone been in this situation before?

I've taken them for acne for about 2 years before and been fine. That was with drs advice though. I'd make a call to review them especially if you're having issues.

I take care gem for years at a time. Antibiotics won’t effect migraines although you should take a good probiotic to keep your gut healthy.

My DD has been taking these for the last 6 months and they've worked brilliantly on her acne. But yes she can have stomach pain at times but we put down to her period. Like you we're unsure when she should stop as she's scared her acne will return.

Ahh ok thanks! I did take a probiotic at first but then I think I just forgot to carry on but I will get some! I think I will call the doctor and have a chat, I think I need to stop now anyway as I haven’t had an acne since I started and that was nearly 2 years ago so I can’t stay on them forever! I’m scared though 😂
