Hi 🙂 so I had an internal ultrasound scan on Sunday. The doctor called me this morning and said there was a cyst on my right ovary which had blood in. I'm booked in for blood test on Thursday (CA125??) Ovarian cancer was mentioned 😕 which has obviously panicked me. Does anyone have any experience of this? Has anyone had one and it's been endometreosis? Thank you x

Have you had endometriosis symptoms before now? I found out I'd got an ovarian cyst last year, and also was told I had endometriosis (this was news to me, aged 41!) The cyst is an endometrioma and unless they get big, the drs don't seem to do anything with them.

They do a blood test when they find complex cysts (blood filled or solid) as they can indicate if it's likely to be cancer, but chances are it's not.

Are you seeing a gynaecologist or GP?

I had a cyst found in my womb wall during a 6 weeks pg ultrasound. Nothing was done about it and I couldn't find any info anywhere in uterine cysts. So try not to worry just yet

A few years ago (15) I knew someone who had a cyst in their ovary. They had to have it removed under GA and lost that ovary, but they were told the other one would work fine. Perfectly ok life after that.

Woodpigeongrey. I've been ttc child number 2 for a while now with no luck. I've always had very painful periods and have been getting a lot of right pelvic and thigh pain so was sent for a scan to rule other things out first. It was my gp I spoke to this morning. I think she said something about a referral to gynae aswell. Thank you for your reply

IncessantNameChanger thanks for your reply. I will try not to worry too much

Hi, yes exactly the same. I've one on ovary and one in the pouch of Douglas. They are blood cysts also known as chocolate cysts and are from endo. They don't want to operate on me as so much scar tissue and a high chance of needing a colostomy bag afterwards so I'm on Zoladex implant monthly (on month 11 now) to bring on menopause and back at hospital in a few months to see if they've dried up. I was almost at menopause anyway. They cause pain in upper thighs also.

I was worried like you but they aren't sinister.
