I think I have a UTI, so of course I have been Googling. However, do you have any tips on how to deal with the symptoms - especially the need to pee when you can't - before I can get to the doctors?

It hurts.

Sorry can't help you, but you can have my sympathy!

Drink loads and loads of water.

Do you have any baking soda? Dissolve a teaspoon in some water and drink it. It is alkaline which relieves the acidity.

Sympathies - it is miserable isn't it?

Do you have any Barley Water - that is supposed to help too.

Hi, and thank you for advice/sympathy.

Did a bit more Googling before trying to sleep and heard about drinking lots so have done that an it appears to have eased the discomfort a little.

Do I actually need to see my GP or can I continue with the water to flush things out, or maybe can an over the counter treatment?

Am clueless even though I know this is vvv common.

you may need to get antibiotics, I always do. UTIs are truly horrible, so loads of sympathy. You can try Cymalon from the chemist if you can't get an appt, but probably best to take in a urine sample to gps if you can as it's nearly weekend. And you can try sitting in warm bath and peeing in it, sounds gross but does help hope you get better soon
