Overactive bladder advice needed!

Wondering if anyone has any advice.

I am six months postpartum and a month ago was diagnosed with a mild cystocele. This was diagnosed after visiting the GP after developing sudden symptoms of an overactive bladder - I am not incontinent but feel a constant urge/pressure to go. I can hold it in but the constant urge is sometimes unbearable. When I go often nothing comes out.

The doctor decided this was a result of my cystocele and sent me away with pelvic floor exercises. I was also given solifenacin which helped relieve symptoms for a few weeks but seems to have stopped working again. I have asked GP for a referral to urology/gynaecology but they have refused until I have seen NHS physio (which could be months away). I am attending a private women’s health physio in the meantime but even she is a bit dismissive of it (don’t drink caffeine, train your bladder etc). It is not an issue of training my bladder because I can hold on, the problem is the constant feeling of having to go. It’s really debilitating and getting me down, especially being on maternity leave when all I want to do is enjoy spending time with my baby.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Has anyone tried any other medications or techniques which have been effective?
