I’ve been diagnosed with likely DVT in lower leg. Initially supposed to be cellulitis. Now awaiting a Doppler scan tomorrow.
Interested in symptoms, treatment and effects it had on you.
Thanks if anyone can help advise, reassure, occupy the worried woman in pain!

Hi, OP.

The treatment I had was blood thinners, and I had to get in the habit of not sitting in one position too long at a PC without exercising my legs.

I was also breathless as well as at least one clot had moved to my lungs (PE), so I needed a chest xray, heart scan, and six months on warfarin and x2 a week blood tests - but this was some years ago and I believe things have changed now and the regimen is much easier for the patient.

Good luck Flowers

Thanks @SpindleWorld I’ve been advised the meds they started me on will prevent it shifting. And it’s also not likely to because of how it presents.
Blood tests will be fun. I only have one good vein. 🤦‍♀️

If you're not put on warfarin - and it's considered pretty old fashioned these days, so ask about alternatives if you're offered it! - you won't need all the blood tests.

My arms are really feeble now - any blood tests or a cannula result in bruising.

How are you feeling in yourself?

I’m on xarelto at the moment. Honestly I’m feeling pretty crap. But whether that’s a late night and early morning plus pain and worry I’m not sure. (I do suffer with anxiety) Also but breathless but I’m asthmatic so not that unusual for me.
I seriously need to chill out. Get seen and get a clear plan. Sad
