Did anyone get racing heart/palpitations as a side effect of sertraline?

I think you should get it checked out; sertraline can cause heart problems. It's probably nothing but worth making sure.

Not me.

I did. Also the shakes for the first week or 2. And a really dry mouth.

I spoke to the doctor and they told me to give it two more weeks and if it doesn't get better to call back

I came off it due to the side effects. The palpations were awful then it started affecting intimacy and had to go!

If you've described the problem to the doctor and they're happy for you to continue then maybe give it a while to see if it goes away? Usually the worst of the side effects tend to fade after a week or two

Yeah the doctor responded to me after I wrote this post lol, I was shocked they replied to me so quick I thought it would be a few days until I got a response seeing as it's the weekend now, but yes they told me two weeks so I will wait and see, just a bit uncomfortable with these side effects but hopefully they pass

Ugh it's horrible trying to power your way through the initial side effects but hopefully they'll die down soon. Good luck!

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 24/09/2021 22:31

I did. It does pass

@Anonymousxo I know this is an old thread, but wondered how you went as I'm also taking sertraline
