Ridges in nails after pregnancy

I started getting ridges in my nails during my last pregnancy and since having her 7 months ago it’s got worse on three nails.anyone else had these?

I have these but not sure why x

When did you start getting them?

They can be a sign of a deficiency or interruption to the way your body works generally. Don’t know if pregnancy specifically could cause them but if you’re anemic or deficient in vitamins, have a thyroid condition etc then that can cause them.

Do you have any other symptoms that could point to any of those? Pregnancy and birth can kick off certain issues - my thyroid became under active after my first child - so may be worth some blood tests if you’re not feeling 100%

If it’s just the nails then the fact that they’re on all of your nails points towards a whole body issue. Sometimes it can be caused by trauma to the finger itself but that would just be one or two usually. (XH has a permanent ridge where he got bitten by a hamster as a youngster!)
