Pain in Leg - It Hurts!!!!!!

Can anyone advise about a pain i've got in my leg. It started off yesterday sort of behind my knee and into my calf. Its now all the way up the back of my leg. It feels like someone is squeezing the inside of my leg. Its a dull ache not sharp or anything. Is it sciatica?

i had that last year..... went away but took long time.... if you find out what it is do let me know!

Ok few questions
1 Is it swollen?
2 Is it hot to touch?
3 can you walk on it?
4 are you on the pill or have you recently flown?
5 Have you had any chest pain or shortness of breath?

DO you have any swelling of the calf - swelling, redness and pain could be an indication of a DVT which should be checked sooner rather than later. Ohther than that I don't have any other suggestions.

I agree it does sound like a potential deep vein thrombosis. I would go to the gp asap.

Its not swollen of hot or anything like that. Had the GP give it a check today. He just felt around a bit and said that he didn't think it was anything serious. Should i take his word for it?

Ok have you experienced recent cramp or trauma9 compartment syndrome), recent excercise( muscle strain)?

Nothing like that tulip27. Haven't pulled it or anything as far as i know. Sorry - any advise would be welcome.
